Great. Be better if you actually used the money to give your customers a decent interest rate than waste it on web design that no one really cares about. :-)
If you are going for alternating black and white, then I think you need to be careful about the colour you use - the taste section halfway down doesn't fit in with the overall look, as it is not b/w. The dialogue graphic also doesn't fit well, as it is too light overall. However, the ballet graphic works well in the design.
I think the older design worked better dealing with colour splashes
that black design is great, but is it safe for bank to send hyperlinks in emails??
I opted out of the newsletter a long time ago. It seemed to always contain the same articles and the same boring offers from First Direct. You didn't really have anything new to say other than refer to your other website projects (Little Black Book) which I am not at all interested in.
I agree Billy, well said. It's always First Directory this and Mortgage that. I tried first directory years ago and didn't see the value, and I already have a mortgage thanks...therefore the newsletter provided very little interesting content. I stuck with it for a year, but unsubscribed after it became an irrelevant annoyance...a bit like those spam messages that go into my secure message inbox
Report this commentI'd really like to know how you decide which customers get which articles, or do we all get the same? For example I have an offset mortgage with you guys yet I seem to get lots of savings offers - isn't that a waste of time because I can't offset and earn interest?!
But I much prefer the new look and I'd say you've achieved your ease of access and readability objectives.
Report this commentThe main thing is whether this can be easily read on a Mobile device. I read most of my emails on the go and alternating the text from left to right looks as though this design will be totally unsuitable for mobile use.
Its the message NOT the design that is important. Keep the newsletter short with limited images.
Also please get rid of the "buttons" which add nothing except bandwidth.

Group.
Hi @ VK. Don't worry, we would never send out anything that isn't safe to open. Security is very important to us and all our hyperlinks are fully tested.
